Ex-NFL Tight End Jermichael Finley Says Despite 44% of His Brain Not Working When He Retired, No One From the NFL Has Reached Out To Help

Remember Jermichael Finley? He was once thought of Aaron Rodgers’ dream tight end ‘freak’ on the Packers back in 2011 when he finished 3rd in TDs and 12th in yards. Finley was listed at 6 foot 5, 243 pounds while also running a 4.82 40. He was a matchup nightmare fore any defense because he was took quick for a linebacker, but way too big for any DB. Finley’s hands always seemed to hold him back from being great in his short time in NFL stardom, but in the middle of the 2013 season he suffered a gruesome spinal cord injury that essentially ended his career.

As much as he tried to come back and play, no team would take the risk of putting them on their field and possibly risking his death. From what I gather he had a $10 million insurance policy that he took advantage of when he hung em up after no one would give him a realistic offer so at least he was okay financially it seems. But now this news comes out that 44% of his brain just flat out stopped working when he retired and no one from the shaddy NFL reached out to help. SHOCKER. That doesn’t exclude the Packers, who it looks like gave zero fucks to helping Finley during his post-NFL career. Just brutal news to hear for a guy that gave it all he had to the game during the time he was on the field.

The NFL continues to be the fucking worst in terms of looking out for their own, led by the biggest douche bag of them all Roger Goodell. You preach you’re trying to help these guys post-NFL get back on their feet after sacrificing their bodies for the greater good of the game, but then you turn your back once they stop benefiting you.
